This was one of the most pretentious books I’ve ever read. Seriously. What I expected to be a guide to DV film making was really just an excuse for the author to push his own personal aesthetic, and I learned virtually nothing about the nuts and bolts of film making at all. If I wanted to know how to shoot Dogme 95 like a pretentious art-house irritant, I would buy a book on THAT rather than having to skip over an entire chapter of useless information. Plus for some reason he seems to assume that nobody already owns a computer, and includes an entire chapter on buying one. That was pretty weird too.

Yes, this book has made it to my reference desk – if only to keep me reminded of my intention to LOOK like a Hollywood production without costing like one.
There are some really useful suggestions and references – some which are now dated due to the age of the book. However I found it an easy read and a good start for anyone looking to get into film production using your camcorder.
Before you buy your equipment or launch your product, do yourself a favor and read through this book first. Buy from here…

THIS PRODUCT WILL MESS UP YOUR PSP’S CHARGING PORT. I had my PSP for less than a day before this device messed it up. I plugged in my PSP at work to let it charge. Then I plugged it into my car on the drive home from work using this intec device. Now, my PSP will no longer charge from the sony wall unit. Haven’t figured out a way to fix this yet. Keep this 5 dollar piece of crap away from your PSP. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

I agree with the first review. I found the Intec car charger to be completely unusable for the same reason – the charger would not stay put in the cigarette lighter slot in my Toyota 4-Runner. The product is unusable. I too purchased the Pelican PSP car charger afterwards, and it works great.

I bought this product for my Sansa e260. I had read things like “CD quality,” and “works great!” These couldn’t be further from the truth. Remember the days of cassette tapes where you would listen to your favorite tape 1,000 times? That’s what it sounds like…and that’s provided you don’t have any interference. You have to turn up your sound system so loud that if you accidentally switch modes to CD for instance, you will undoubtedly blow your speakers. This product sucks.
